I had the great pleasure of working with Mark at Sky where he was a very creative and energetic Head of Programmes. His role was to lead a team of twenty-plus people where he created some really memorable content for the Sky Entertainment channels, some of it on very small budgets!Mark is loyal and committed, a seriously great person to work with or have on your team. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.
When we embarked on a new narrative audio project, Mark came in to consult on the script and guide the writing process. He did his homework, and arrived bubbling over with ideas. He immediately read the room and established a creative process that got the best out of the writers, shaping the story with patience and a steady hand. His writing skills and mastery of tone were pitch perfect and his knowledge of story structure saved us from doom more than once! Mark is one of the best, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.
It’s simple, without Mark’s passion and tenacity, ‘The 51st State’ would never have happened. I’d assembled some of the pieces, but it was Mark who instinctively knew how to take those pieces, assemble them, expand on them, shape them, and get the project over the finish line
Mark blends creativity with business focus. He is a strategic, visionary leader who is effective and popular. He did a stellar job of positioning the Sky Movies brand and was a key architect in its success.
When I worked with Mark he did what all great producers do, guiding you without curtailing you, in order to come out with the best work possible.
Mark is an outstanding professional with excellent skills in both creative development and hands-on production. He’s a great team player and a pleasure to work with - a rare combination.
Mark Aldridge is a one of the canniest producers I’ve worked with in television. He talks straight, is highly creative but also manages to balance that creativity with the strategic needs of the broadcaster. I’d jump at the chance of working with him again.
A big thinker with great ideas, Mark is reliable but most importantly, he’s great company.
Mark thinks big. We’ve used him on a couple of projects and he’s consistently been able to jump straight in and offer some blue sky thinking that pushed the programmes in exciting new directions. Recommended.
Mark was a valuable part of the BT Sport creative and production team through the network’s launch and served on the Creative Steering Group, where the ideas and energy that made BT Sport’s personality and creative colour come to life, were initiated. Mark was also responsible for two primetime separate studio programming series that became popular with viewers and loved by the talent who appeared on them.
When Mark was my Executive Producer at BT Sport, he was always very supportive, open to creative ideas and a pleasure to work with. He always made me feel included, which as a director is brilliant. His experience meant he hand picked an excellent production team with a clear vision. As a result, we created some really entertaining television together which broke from the traditions of mainstream sports entertainment.
